The Gala
The Grocery Foundation’s Night to Nurture Gala, one of the largest fundraising dinner in North America, was held on Feb 1, 2020 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. According to organizers, it annually raises close to $2,000,000 to help kids in need. Since 2000, this Gala has raised close to $39 million. Funds raised through this Gala benefit organizations that help children such as Kids Help Phone and breakfast programs in Canadian schools. For more than thirty years, the Night to Nuture Gala has helped ensure children have healthy meals and provided them with an understanding ear when they need to talk.
Howie Mandel’s spicy humour entertained the crowd. The Arkells rocked the crowd!
The Gala evening featured a luxurious cocktail reception where guests bid on the Silent Auction, enjoyed interactive entertainment and purchased a raffle tickets to win a new car!
Cuisine:
The delicious dinner consisted of as appetizer a root vegetable salad with edamame hummus, fresh local burrata, micro sprouts and citrus emulsion; the entrée was braised beef with caramelized cipollini onion, smoked gouda potato, charred pepper sofrito, wilted greens and natural reductions and desert was decadent duo ganache tart, roasted pineapple with pink peppercorns and fresh raspberries.
