Pride Toronto held its Pride Month from May 31 to June 25, 2017: “A Celebration of AIDS Research – Action = Life”. Pride Month launched on June 1, 2018 by city leaders, officials and Mayor Tory holding a flag raising ceremony that paired the raising of both the Trans pride and rainbow Pride flags.
The Festival Weekend Major Events were held as follows Trans March – June 22, 2018, Dyke March – June 23, 2018 and Pride Parade – June 24, 2018.
The Pride Parade:
The jewel of Pride is the Pride Parade which was held on Sunday June 24, 2018 – close to a million people attended.
One of the most exciting events of Pride 2018 was Blockorama presented by Blackness Yes! -a celebration of Black, Caribbean, and African communities.

Pride Toronto’s one million dollar budget is paid by “aggressive fund raising” such as the toonie drive, individual & corporate donations. According to Pride Toronto, Pride Week contributes about $ 80 million to the local economy.
