Baycrest presents an Evening of
Celebration

The Women's Auxiliary of the Baycrest Foundation presented An Evening of Celebration on October 26, 2008 at the Sheraton Centre, Toronto to honour 90 years of excellence. "In recognition of all those who have contributed to Baycrest over the years, we will pay tribute to five extraordinary families whose names are synonymous with Baycrest and the values we stand for:"

  • Sydney and Florence Cooper
  • Harry and Sara Gorman
  • Wilfred and Joyce Posluns
  • Barry and Honey Sherman
  • Edward and Fran Sonshine

The Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction

There was an elegant reception and wonder hour de ours when guests arrived. Guests were able to enjoy unique performance art - see photos below. TorontoArtsandEvents loves this blending of a gala event with the fine arts. While guests sipped cocktails, they cruised the charity auctions tables to bid on high quality corporate donations for the auction - all for a good cause!

Dinner Theatre and Entertainment Showcase

The dinning area was impressive and the dinner was fine! After the dinner, there was a live auction and the sounds of ABBA and the Bee Gees emanating from the stage.

The Celebration Gala was a fantastic evening for a worthy cause; namely, Baycrest. It was reported that over one million dollars was raised!! It was a great effort on the part of all the sponsors, organizers, business that donated auction items, bar staff, waiters, security, and journalists to support Baycrest.
