MAD HOT - A Russian Seduction -
National Ballet of Canada Gala

On June 8, 2010, the National Ballet of Canada held their fifth annual fundraising Gala, MAD HOT: A Russian Seduction at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts and raised $1 million for the Ballet. The Gala Committee included: Lina Gagliano, Co-Chair, Clara Mathur, Co-Chair, David Banks, Honourary Chair Inger Bartlett, Suzanne Cohon, Marlene DelZotto, Alexandra Di Prata, Stacy Francis, Greta Hodgkinson, Sarah Macdonald, Patti Menkes, Myles Mindham, Bernadette Morra, Lynda Prince, Laura Rapp, Sara Waxman, Victoria Webster Karen Kain, Artistic Director, Kevin Garland, Executive Director and Lucille Joseph, Chair of the Board of Directors. "The evening of dance began with a performance of works that showcased the National Ballet’s artists: Musings, choreographed by James Kudelka, plus excerpts from Diamonds from George Balanchine’s Jewels, As Above, So Below by Mark Godden, Polyphonia by Christopher Wheeldon and John Cranko’s Onegin." [national.ballet.ca] Following the gala performance, all audience members celebrated with MAD HOT cocktails, fine wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres while the stage was transformed into a Russian palace for the 550 gala dinner guests for a gourmet meal onstage by Mark McEwan.
